You Are Underweight by 11 Pounds - Now What?

If you are underweight whether by 11 pounds or by 7 pounds, you need to first decide what you want to do about it. Do you want to remain as skinny as you are now or you want to build some muscle mass and bulk up. You may not want to be a body builder with huge muscles but to live a normal healthy life you need to add some muscles. Remembers if you are seen and weak, you are thought of as weak.

If you decide to work on it and add some muscles mass then where do you start. I believe the first thing is to see why you are underweight. Is it in your genes - just check your parents and siblings. If they are underweight too then it may be in your genes. If they are not then may be the problem is with you. Either way there is nothing to get frustrated, even if your genes are against muscle building, still you can add up muscles to great extent if you put your mind in it.

You need to draw up a muscle building exercise plan - Now if you are cycling, swimming and running on the track or treadmill, then these aerobic exercises are not going to help you. These exercises are great for keeping fit and strong but they are not for adding muscles mass. What you need is strength training that is weight training with heavy weights. You need to build a routine so that you can all big muscle groups in your body and exercise them at least once a week. You should do exercises specific to chest, back, abs, thighs and legs. If you do exercises using light weight then you're not going to bulk up. Light weight is for losing weight and exercise with heavy weight is for getting weight.

Besides weight training you need to have a diet plan. Your diet should have enough amount of food with proportion like 40% protein, 30% crabs. You need to take enough protein because proteins are your building blocks. They supply amino acid in the blood that ultimately gets converted into muscle fibers. You also need adequate rest for gibing time to your muscle for repair and gain. You should know that your muscles grow when you are sleeping and not when you are working out. So add regular sleep of 6 to 8 hours per day. The plan that you draw which must have information on your exercise, rest amend diet must be followed religiously. You should not expect good result if you are do following the plan occasionally.
